The Gauteng health department intensified internal control systems in some problematic hospitals to improve financial stability.
On Wednesday, at the Gauteng Clean Audit Awards, held at The Venue, Houghton Hotel, in the north-east of Johannesburg, the department was recognised for an unqualified audit.
It was announced that 100% of Gauteng departments received unqualified audit opinions in the 2022/23 financial year, with six Gauteng provincial departments achieving clean audits.
