It is no secret that both Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates are in the market to bolster their striking ranks ahead of next season.

Both Chiefs and Pirates even seem to be fishing in the same pond as they have often been linked to the same strikers, with that being the case once more.

Initially both Chiefs and Pirates were credited with an interest in Cape Town Spurs striker Ashley Cupido. That race continues to be on the cards, despite many different reported twists and turns. Initially it was thought that the youngster preferred the Buccaneers over Amakhosi, before recently saying he would like to stay at the Cape Town side should they go up. This publication then also reported that an unnamed overseas team has joined the race and hopes to throw a spanner in the works.

The two Soweto giants were then linked to a move to Marumo Gallants striker Ranga Chivaviro. It now, however, looks as if he is edging closer to a move to Tanzanian giants Yanga SC instead of either Chiefs or Pirates, as reported by this publication earlier on Sunday.

Then both clubs were though to be looking at Kenya to solve their striking issues, with red hot Benson Omala thought to be interesting both Chiefs and Pirates. Those reports have since quietened down.

Now the latest striker that seems to be attracting the attentions of both Chiefs and Pirates is believed to be Malawian teenager Eric Sadia, according to Soccer-Laduma.

“Its a tricky situation because the representatives of both teams have enquired about the player (Sadia). Both Chiefs and Pirates are interested in his services. There are teams in Malawi also who want him but his team want him to move outside Malawi. He is young and very good. If well-trained, he will be much better than Gabadinho Mhango. But as I have said, both Soweto giants are interested in the striker, whether for the main team or their development sides, I am not sure,” A source said to the same publication.

Sadia currently plays for Alpha Soft Academy and has already won two Player of the Season Awards at the tender age of 19. Club owner Alphia Liwonde confirmed that there was interest from South Africa.

“What I can say is, he is a very good striker. He can play anywhere. About South Africa, there are people who are dealing with that and I will hear from them which teams are interested in him,” Liwonde said.
