Raubex ups its dividend by a fifth as it eyes construction pickup | Business

Construction, infrastructure and materials group Raubex says it’s pleased its more diversified footprint helped it raise its interim dividend by almost a fifth. While its order book has grown, its optimistic even more business will be coming its way as SA grapples with a shortage of infrastructure and affordable housing.

Group revenue rose 14.5% to R8.45 billion in the six months to end August and profit almost 20% to about R440 million, it reported on Monday, boosted largely by its materials handling and mining division, more specifically Bauba Resources.

Raubex acquired a controlling stake of the miner and exploration in January 2022, and it now has four operating divisions, up from three. Valued at about R4.6 billion on the JSE, the company’s divisions are materials handling and mining, construction materials, roads and earthworks, and infrastructure.
