Pierre van Ryneveld Dorpsfees, August 30 – September 2

The four-day, not-to-be-missed Pierre van Ryneveld Town Festival at Pierre van Ryneveld Geloofsfamilie church promises to cater for all.

Starting at 15:00 on Wednesday, August 30, it will culminate in an art exhibition finale and a “mandjiesdans”.

Attendees can also look forward to a baby competition, night race, art competitions, and more.

Spring Walk with the Friends of Magalies, September 2

For the perfect Spring celebration, experiencing the new season first-hand in nature is a must.

Get an early start to your day with two walks: an easy one and the other more challenging. A special walk for bird watchers will also be available.

The walk will be followed by a braai at the Jack se Plek lapa.

Perfect for the whole family, or for mingling with the community, the event begins at 07:00, and the walks start as soon as the groups are ready.

Brendan Peyper, September 2

Artist Brendan Peyper knows his audience. Not only is he known as quite the heartthrob, but his mix of modern country and dance-inspired pop has become a favourite among Afrikaans music fans.

Peyper began playing guitar at the tender age of five and launched his professional career at 14.

Catch him live at Padstal pub in Pretoria East on Saturday from 21:00.

LKM Spring Chilli and Tequila Festival, September 2

Is teasing your tastebuds with hot and spicy flavours your thing?

Lavender Kontrei Mark near the Wonderboom Airport presents the Spring Chilli & Tequila Festival from 08:00 to 15:00.

The festival is a great way to celebrate the warmer season, with over 40 stalls showcasing hot sauces, chillies, pods, plants, and then of course – a variety of tequilas.

For the more daring, prizes can be won in the Veggie Terrible Challenge for the kids, the Full Chip Challenge, the Nuclear Cherry Challenge, and the Chilli Challenge.

There will be a variety of food stalls, craft beer, decor, crafts, fresh produce, garden supplies, handmade products and much more.

Live entertainment will be presented from 10:30 by the Anton Botha Band

RAMfest 2023, September 2

Get ready for the Pretoria leg of RAMfest 2023 as it hits the Loftus D field from 14:00 till late.

Two stages with 14 acts, featuring only Real Alternative Music, including some of the best South Africa has to offer, as well as headliner Enter Shikari, all the way from the UK.

Jack Parow, Shadowclub, Straatligkinders, The Tazers, Facing The Gallows, The Ocean Collective from Germany and many more will bring their talent to the capital city.

Chuckles, September 3

Kick of your Spring calendar with a bit of a laugh at the monthly Chuckles comedy show at Railways Cafe in Irene.

This month’s instalment features Bongani Dube, Bradley Van Wyk, and Gavin Kelly as they bring their best laughs to the Railways stage.

The event starts at 14:00 and the organisers promise their comedians are responsibly sourced and guaranteed to lget the audience in stitches.

Vox Spring Concert, September 3

Vox Chamber Choir and celebrated composer and conductor Franco Prinsloo present the seventh annual Vox Spring Concert at 15:00 on Sunday, September 3 at the Voortrekker Monument.

Vox will celebrate the arrival of spring by performing its new a cappella repertoire in the Heldesaal with its fantastic acoustics.

Guest choirs will include Hoërskool Eldoraigne’s exquisite Eldo-Ridente and the celebrated Akademia-koor.

Prinsloo will conduct all the choirs.
