Prasa restores another rail line in Gauteng, but pace remains slow as major contractor lies idle | Business

The Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa (Prasa) says it is on track to restore passenger train services across the Gauteng during the current financial year, which ends in March 2024.

The utility says it will, over the coming few months, restart operations to ferry commuters from Pretoria to Johannesburg, via Germiston on the eastern end of the province. It will also connect passengers from Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality’s largest township of Katlehong via the Kwesine train station.
